Gameplay Description

After a short fly-in camera shot with the game name displayed, you assume control over the foreman and you may freely walk through the entire city.

The empty lot that the fly-in-camera takes you to will transform during the course of the next 30 days.

Different crews, equipment and skyboxes will swap in and out of the scene as each day progresses.

The GGJ24 Theme was "Make Me Laugh". In keeping with this theme we have some bathroom humor on the construction lot as you walk through darkened trigger zones in front of the portaloos.

A City-Wide Waypoint Following System for vehicles has been created and implemented allowing for vehicles to travel the city, in a manner consistent with real travel on the streets of America.

A prototype of this vehicle waypoint following system is currently being implemented by the characters that populate the city and they have a limited area within which to walk freely.

Multiple Waypoint Systems have been employed, each advancing a particular idea. If a waypoint in a particular waypoint system is placed along a path that the character may choose and it is triggered by the character, then the character will jump the tracks to the new waypoint system until such time as the character is derailed to another waypoint system.

An additional waypoint system in the park  may be entered into if a character enters the park waypoint system trigger. They may snap out of it if/when they activate a trigger for a different waypoint system.

The Hourly Event System's primary focus was to create & employ an event system based upon a 24 hour cycle. This hourly cycle would also advance the number of days that have elapsed. The purpose of this was to create events at various daily intervals(dawn, start shift, lunch) to adjust the skybox, lighting, post-processing volumes and set crew working times.

The Daily Event System was designed to act as a monthly calendar where the developer could send various events that other objects such as a Lot Manager would switch various game objects on and off as prompted to do so in an effort to create a 'living' construction site.

Further refinements should include animating the crews to walk around the site doing job specific duties.

Enjoy!
